Layout Description:
The St. Louis-Iron Mountain and Texas & Pacific represent the Missouri Pacific’s main line from St. Louis into Texas. The St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern ended at the State Line in Texarkana and the trains were taken over by the Texas & Pacific Railway. The T&P hauled the trains southwest to Longview where the International-Great Norther went south to Houston, Galveston, Austin and San Antonio and the T&P’s track went west the Dallas, Fort Worth and El Paso.
Obviously we cannot model that many miles in scale. We do have a representation of St. Louis Union Station and the Mopac’s Lesperance Street Yard in St. Louis. The trains pass through and switch DeSoto, Bismarck and Poplar Bluff in Missouri. Then pass through the Missouri Ozarks (actually a five level spiral helix) and enter Little Rock. Little Rock includes North Little Rock Yard and Little Rock Union Station. Continuing south the trains pass through Hope, Arkansas and Texarkana Arkansas/Texas. Continuing south the trains pass through Marshall and terminate in Longview Staging.
Crew:We operate with 11 people and the jobs are shown below:
- Dispatcher
- St. Louis Union Station Stationmaster
- Lesperance Street Yardmaster
- Little Rock Station Master
- North Little Rock Yard Master
- Texarkana Station Master
