Layout Description:
The layout is based on SP’s Houston to Shreveport route (The Rabbit) thru the East Texas Piney Woods in the early 1990s. In addition to Southern Pacific mainline trains three East Texas shortline railroads are featured.

Operation Scheme:
Mainline trains depart from the Houston/Shreveport staging yard switching towns and yards along the route and interchanging with the shortline railroads. Jobs are 3 mainline engineers, 1 shortline operator, 2 yardmasters and 1 local switcher. 30 trains operated during a typical session. A normal operating session runs 3 hours.
